What is MRI and what is it used for?

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) was initially used in human medicine in the 1980s before it was introduced into the veterinary industry in 2003. MRI is a specialised imaging modality typically used for neurological imaging. However, the system conveys many other imaging benefits for patients, and can be applied to other body systems including soft tissue and orthopedic investigations through the creation of arthrograms.
