This year bike week took place from 6-12 June 2022 and IMV were keen to get involved! With a number of keen cyclists in the company, we organised our own \u2018bike day\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To coincide with bike week and for a bit of fun, IMV organised a bike day where members of staff went for a lovely cycle round a preselected route near to head office. The route we chose is highlighted below and along the way we were met with a few challenges! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the team set off, everyone tucked into a delicious spread of healthy food and drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dream team set off in good spirits and didn\u2019t let the oncoming rain or break down along the way, spoil the fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have a number of staff who work remotely and weren\u2019t able to join in on the fun run itself, but we didn\u2019t let this prevent them from joining in. To keep our full team included we invited our other team members to send us in pictures of their cycling exploits and share the scenic (or not so scenic) routes they took. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our very own Alan Picken (Directoire Imaging IMV Technologies Group) managed to clock up an amazing 400km over the weekend! Check out a few of his highlights below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At IMV we are keen to promote a healthy work\/life balance and cycling is just one of the many activities our team get involved in outside of work. The benefits of cycling are vast and are not only good fun can be improve your overall health and make a remarked difference to the climate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Cycling to work can mean you have a 45% lower risk of developing cancer, and a 46% lower risk of cardiovascular disease \u2013 your health \u2013 better by bike <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2.  A switch of one journey per day reduces a person\u2019s carbon footprint by approximately 0.5 tonnes over a year \u2013 your climate \u2013 better by bike <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3.  If all cycle journeys increased from the current level of 2% to 25% by 2050, the collective benefit would be \u00a3248bn \u2013 your pocket \u2013 better by bike <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
