Background:\u00a0<\/h4>\n

I studied Applied Bioscience and Zoology at the University of the West of Scotland. And graduated with First Class Honors (woohoo) in summer 2022. I\u2019ve always had a passion for science, animals, nature, and just being outdoors in general. Throughout my studies I quickly realised that a career somewhere in Life Sciences was where I wanted to be. And here I am!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alongside my studies, I worked in various customer service roles \u2013 both in store and telephony\/online. I have been your local diy-girlie at B&Q to teaching your gran and grandad how to work their online banking. I\u2019ve always enjoyed helping people. Whether that was signposting an aisle, answering a query, or solving a problem. It\u2019s great to speak with people and hopefully brighten their day up a little with my stellar Scottish patter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Starting at IMV Imaging:\u00a0\u00a0<\/h4>\n

The induction process here empowers us newbies to explore different departments within the business, departments that I likely wouldn\u2019t have much exposure to as an Account Manager. This has opened my eyes to a lot of the different moving parts that have to operate smoothly for the business to continue to help our customers and for the business to grow.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a massive believer in the \u201cyou\u2019ve gotta nourish to flourish\u201d mentality, and luckily, it\u2019s also something IMV are big believers in too! As a graduate, I am really lucky to be placed in different departments for 1\u20138 week periods. This will provide me with so much insight, and much needed experience to ensure I can help our customers and fully understand their needs!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Typical day:\u00a0<\/h4>\n

It\u2019s hard to describe a typical day as part of the Graduate scheme, no two days are the same! The beauty of the graduate scheme is you\u2019re constantly learning and adapting when you\u2019re placed in different departments. Oftentimes these are departments where you have had very little prior experience, like Marketing for example. It has been super interesting learning more about the voices behind our social media, the photographs\/videos online, all the way to the website. Without the graduate scheme, I\u2019d have not had this exposure or appreciation for what the different departments do!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

As a Graduate Account Manager, I am confident that the exposure to different departments will stand me in good stead when managing my own territory. I will have gained a holistic understanding of the business, its products, and how the organisation operates.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Outside of work:\u00a0<\/h4>\n

Outside of the office I live a perfectly chaotic life with my partner, son, and our two cats! A lot of our free time is spent outdoors, long walks by the river Clyde or further afield are typically how we spend our evenings and weekends. It\u2019s great sharing my love of the outdoors and nature with my son, who will shout on me every single time he sees a dog, it\u2019s great!\u00a0<\/p>\n
