About Me<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hi everyone, my name is Adam Conn, or you may better know me as @thevetatthecoast19 <\/a>on Instagram. I have been working alongside IMV as a brand ambassador now for nearly two years focusing on dairy herd health and fertility. In my role as an ambassador, I aim to engage vets, vet students and the wider Agri\/farming community in my day-to-day role, showing off IMV products and services and how I use them in practice. As you may already know I try to make things as interactive and fun as possible, with a few top-quality soundtracks along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Day Job<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work as a mixed practice vet on the beautiful North Antim Coastline, for Riada Veterinary Clinic in Ballymoney, N.Ireland.\u00a0 Every day I drive up and down the coast, never taking my amazing \u2018office views\u2019 for granted and sharing those view with my followers. North Antrim is an amazing part of the world with soils that are perfect for growing copious amounts of grass. There is therefore a large population of dairy cattle in this small corner of Northern Ireland. So much so that Ballymoney has the nickname \u2018cow town\u2019. \u00a0I am a mixed practice vet, spending the majority of my time focusing on dairy herd health, in particular herd fertility work, whilst looking after the area\u2019s pets, and any exotic animals that come our way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How I use IMV products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been using IMV products since graduating, with my current IMV Easi-Scan:Go<\/a> by my side sine 2017. I find that the quality of image is incredible and enjoy searching for embryos from 23 days onwards, made possible with this scanner. I love using the app for teaching purposes, something I wish was available when I was a vet student as back then watching someone scanning cows was definitely not a spectator sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been lucky enough to have been trialling Colour flow doppler<\/a> on my Easi-Scan:Go<\/a> now for a year now and find that it is bringing a whole new level of context to my scans. Being able to view a 2d image of the ovarian structures, whilst seeing the blood flow within these structures has allowed me to make breeding decisions much sooner than previously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I currently write this blog, I have just had a morning using the Bovi<\/a>ntel<\/a> add on to my scanner. Whilst its extremely early days for me using this technology, it has already proven to be very user friendly, and the potential applications for future development of this software are endless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working alongside IMV is a pleasure, as they share my passion of being on the cutting edge of Agri tech, to ensure we can provide the best service for our clients and their animals.  I look forward to keeping you updated on how I\u2019m finding both colour flow doppler, and bov<\/a>intel<\/a> in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
