Video 1- Introduction, equipment, and horse preparation<\/strong><\/h5>\n

I<\/span><\/span>n t<\/span><\/span>he first part of this four-part series on ultrasonography of the equine stifle from IMV imaging,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the basic principles of patient preparation, environmental factors, and machine settings are discussed. By optimizing all these factors, image quality and therefore the resultant diagnostic quality of an ultrasound examination can be maximized.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Equine Stifle Video 2: Dorsal stifle- Patellar ligaments<\/h5>\n

P<\/span>art two of this four-part stifle imaging series\u00a0<\/span>concerns<\/span>\u00a0the approach to\u00a0<\/span>a comprehensive\u00a0<\/span>ultrasonograp<\/span>hic evaluation<\/span>\u00a0of the\u00a0<\/span>middle, medial, and lateral\u00a0<\/span>patellar ligaments of the stifle<\/span>, from evaluation of their origins on the distal aspect of the patella to their insertions onto the tibial tuberosity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Equine Stifle Video 3: Cranial and medial stifle<\/h5>\n

P<\/span>art three of this four-part stifle imaging series\u00a0<\/span>starts with a demonstration of<\/span>\u00a0how to evaluate the cranial articular surface of the\u00a0<\/span>femoropatellar<\/span>\u00a0joint (the trochlear ridges and groove of the femur)<\/span>. The medial aspect of the stifle, including the medial meniscus, medial collateral ligament and a pouch of the medial femorotibial joint, is then assessed.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Equine Stifle Video 4: Lateral stifle<\/h5>\n

In the final video of this four-part series from IMV imaging, the approach to ultrasonography of the lateral aspect of the stifle is shown. The structures evaluated include the joint tendinous origins of the long digital extensor and peroneus tertius muscles, the\u00a0<\/span>collateral ligament,\u00a0<\/span>lateral meniscus, popliteus tendon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
