Easi-Scan Annual Servicing<\/strong><\/p>\n

An Easi-Scan has a very hard life. Used daily, bounced in and out of cars, possibly used by many different people, in a dirty environment, often damp from being cleaned with water. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

At BCF, we designed the Easi-Scan to be tough, rugged and durable, built for use on the farm. However, your Easi-Scan would hugely benefit from an annual service at BCF.<\/p>\n

A pre-planned service at a convenient time for you is much more preferable than a breakdown at the worst possible moment on a farm with a shed full of cows to scan.<\/p>\n

Why have your Easi-Scan serviced annually<\/strong><\/p>\n

Getting your Easi-Scan equipment serviced once a year provides a great opportunity for our engineers to spot a small problem before it becomes a larger and potentially expensive issue. Just as you tell your clients the benefits of regular herd health checks are vital for the welfare of the herd, so are regular checks important for your Easi-Scan. <\/p>\n

Looking after your investment in Easi-Scan<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your original investment in your BCF Easi-Scan equipment, probably cost you as much as a new car, so it is worth while looking after your diagnostic imaging equipment and having it serviced regularly. At the very least, it may last a few more years, before you would need to consider replacing it.<\/p>\n

Prevent any water ingress<\/strong><\/p>\n

The opportunity to see your Easi-Scan annually allows us to see if the waterproof seal is still in tact. An Easi-Scan is watertight to IP65 standards. However, the waterproof seal may perish over the years, allowing water to enter anywhere near electric circuit boards is dangerous as it will short out and blow circuit boards. Whenever we open up an Easi-Scan during a service or repair we automatically replace the seals.<\/p>\n

Over hundreds of days use and missed annual services, the key pad may become worn with the potential of creating small tears which may let in water.<\/p>\n

Worn control panels caused by missed services over many years, may cause water ingress.<\/p>\n

Also, if the unit has been dropped, small cracks can be created in the plastic outer casing that may let in water. During a service we check carefully for any cracks in the plastics. We can replace the plastic outer casing with a new one. We also pressure check all Easi-Scans at the end of a service to ensure they are no hairline cracks in the plastic and the scanner is watertight.<\/p>\n

Damage caused by dropping the unit may cause water ingress<\/p>\n

Looking after your Easi-Scan probe<\/strong><\/p>\n

The probe is fully investigated during a service. As you know, the probe is one of the most valuable components of your Easi-Scan. Giving BCF the opportunity to take a look at the probe and cabling once a year during a service, may help you prolong the life of the probe and save you money.<\/p>\n

For example, any small tears in the outer material of the probe cable can be repaired, preventing any further damage or water ingress and help protect the delicate electronic wiring running through the cable.<\/p>\n

Also it may be possible to repair any excessive wear of the plastic outer of the probe head, helping you to prolong the life of the probe. To replace the probe on an Easi-Scan would cost approximately \u00a32,500.<\/p>\n

We also look for any crystal damage in the probe and see to how this may affect the ultrasound image.<\/p>\n

Corrosion on your Easi-Scan<\/strong><\/p>\n

If the scanner has not been dried completely after washing, over time there may be corrosion of screws and connections. Again, these items can be simply replaced during a service.<\/p>\n

By not drying the Easi-Scan after cleaning, over time corrosion may occur. In this case preventing a good connection with the battery.<\/p>\n

Checking circuit boards inside your Easi-Scan<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once inside we can check that the circuit boards are OK, looking to see if there are any ultrasound image problems to be addressed. We check the image using specialised imagery equipment and phantoms.<\/p>\n

Manufacturers\u2019 updates<\/strong><\/p>\n

An annual service also allows our engineers to update any software such as Trapezoid imaging.<\/p>\n

Keeping your BUGs up and running<\/strong><\/p>\n

During a service of your BUGs, we can check the lenses and image quality, replace the headband and brow pads if necessary, as well as checking the cable and connector for any wear and tear.<\/p>\n

Battery check<\/strong><\/p>\n

Engineers at BCF check your batteries to ensure that they are charging and discharging effectively. <\/p>\n

To help you prolong the life of your BCF Easi-Scan, we offer a Lifetime Warranty on the ultrasound console and probe.
