Created in 1963 and based in L’Aigle, France, IMV Technologies is the World Leader in animal reproductive biotechnologies. And through its subsidiary IMV Imaging provides full systems integrator approach for imaging solutions for Veterinarians to provide enhanced health diagnostics for companion animals (cats, dogs, horses primarily)

In 2023, the Group achieved a turnover of €145M and double-digit EBITDA ratio with a strong resilience in the COVID19 crisis environment. Since its creation the Group has always experienced sustained growth and a high level of profitability. Based in France, with subsidiaries in 9 countries (Brazil, China, India, Ireland, Netherlands, UK, United States, Spain, South Africa), and 3 representation offices (Germany, Italy, Russia) and an extensive network of distributors in more than 120 countries, IMV Technologies generates 88% of its turnover outside France. The Group has seven production sites located in 5 countries (France, UK, Spain, Netherlands, China). The Group has over 650 employees, including 240 in France, 160 in China and 100 in the UK.

In addition to its organic development, IMV Technologies has been expanding its portfolio of activities and services through highly targeted acquisitions of either complementary businesses such as insemination endoscopy equipment (Herritech – 2015), ultrasound imaging (BCF & ECM – 2017), Swine Post Cervical AI (Tecnovet – 2020), technologies such as fish egg selection (GenetiRate – 2021) or manufacturing to strengthen the core business regionalization / localization such as the China Nelson Factory (2015).

The growth ambition is strong, aiming for a turnover of €200m within 5 years and a continuously improved high level of profitability. To ensure its scalability and strengthen its process and organisation, the group has initiated different transformation programs in commercial efficiency, supply chain, quality and finance & IT systems. To support the growth and these transformations, a specific focus is done on Lean to build the IMV Business System (IBS) and HR to set up a global HR strategy.

The Group started its fourth LBO in 2021 with Montagu Private Equity, that took over from Qualium Investissement, which was shareholder since 2014. More than 80% of the Group’s managers are shareholders and hold about 15% of the capital.

The Group’s Management Committee has been chaired by Alain de Lambilly since January 2020.

The Position

Title: Financial Controller – Business Line Farm Animal Imaging

Position in the Organization: The position is part of the Group Finance organization, reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer with a dotted line to the Operations Director of Farm Animal Imaging.

Location: Head Office, Bellshill, Scotland (Hybrid Working) some France travel.

Job scope:

Ensure proper financial & IT governance is maintained to group standards through the effective operation of the financial accounting controls process and IT process, that can withstand audit scrutiny.

Direct reports: Eight heads (7.88 FTE)

Position Summary

To manage the financial shared services center supporting two Imaging Business Lines: Companion Animal under a Transitional Services Agreement and Farm Animal directly. Build on the IMV culture of continuous improvement by developing processes that drive financial efficiency, effectiveness, develop the data security and governance, and improve a high level of analytic and management control.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with group finance team to ensure the Imaging BU are fully aligned with group reporting formats, timescales, and analytic rules.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports for the two Imaging Business Lines.
  • Develop a culture of Business Partnering in the FA Imaging Business Line, supporting the Commercial and Operational Leads.
  • Support the FA Commercial and Operational Teams on Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Work with the Imaging Business Support Director to prepare the financial data required for Companion Animal monthly and quarterly reporting (TSA).
  • Responsible for treasury and banking within the Imaging BU, including cashflow forecasting and payment of suppliers.
  • Support the governance process to ensure that all entities are compliant from a financial, legal and tax perspective.
  • Lead the annual financial closing and audits of Imaging Group entities, working with the external auditors, accountants, and tax advisors.
  • Working with group finance and other directors, lead the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Engage with external tax advisors to submit annual R&D tax reclaims to HMRC including working with internal R&D team on reports.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of the entity financial statements.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of the financial transactions across Imaging including supporting operational and commercial queries related to customers and transactions.
  • A key member of the Imaging management team will collaborate with colleagues across the value stream to ensure operational efficiency and flow across the business.
  • Support the strategy for growth, supporting the M&A team on the integration of new companies into the business.
  • Manage the IT team with the support of the French IT Director.

The Person

Languages: English (native) and French (ideally)

Previous experience and skills required:

  • At least 15 years of experience as a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis or other Controlling Finance role. Big 4 experience in audit/consulting, or manufacturing background preferred. Knowledge of IFRS
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills combined with a planning and financial consolidation tool (ideally Power BI)
  • Experienced with SAP Business 1, or other SAP platforms
  • Understand business drivers and can translate these into robust planning assumptions.
  • Ability to manage within a matrix network and in project mode.
  • Multi-tasked, able to work in a deadline-driven environment. 
  • Pragmatic, drive change and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
